What is Sunday bite in orthodontics?

Sunday bite describes the occurrence of an edge-to-edge incisor relationship due to settling caused by orthodontic movement.

For example, consider an instance where you have corrected a Class II Division 1 malocclusion by using Class II elastics for a prolonged period. It would lead to settling over some regions such as between upper/lower canines and premolars and around upper centrals, making contact possible between previously non-occluding upper and lower incisal edges as they settle from open-bite into an edge-to-edge incisor relationship.
