Place the shoe box onto a sheet of construction paper. Have the child trace around the four sides of the box, one at a time, drawing four rectangles. Any size shoe box will work, but a child size box will be more manageable for small hands and limited circle space.
Cut out the rectangles from the construction paper with scissors. Supervise children too young to use safety scissors.
Glue the rectangles to the corresponding side of the shoe box with school glue. Allow the glue to dry.
Decorate the shoe box crib with crayons and stickers, or glue on fabric scraps or lace pieces with school glue.
Place a bandanna in the shoe box for a blanket. Use another bandanna to cover a doll in the shoe box.
Cut a cardboard toiler paper tube in half so the tube is in two semicircle pieces.
Glue the backs of the cardboard tubes together with school glue. Allow the glue to dry. The top half is the bed and the bottom half will sit flat on a surface to support the cradle.
Decorate with crayons and stickers, or glue on fabric or lace pieces. Use a facial tissue for a baby blanket. According to Preschool Education, you can use a peanut for a baby. Preschool Education suggests drawing a face on the peanut with a marker.
