Go to the Georgia Bright from the Start website and click on the Pre-K tab at the top of the screen. From the main screen choose "find Pre-K locations" and enter your ZIP code and Fulton County. Scroll through the list of available daycare centers near you and click on their names to find contact information and review reports. Each listing will tell you how many Pre-K slots are available at that location. Call to verify because updates are not made every day.
If you do not wish to use the online tool, call the Georgia Source for Finding Quality Child Care. This is a toll-free service at 1-877-255-4254. Ask to speak to a child care resource and referral consultant. When you reach the representative, tell her you want to locate a free Pre-K program through Georgia's Bright from the Start Program near your Atlanta home. The representative will ask you for your address, then provide you with information about daycare centers near you that offer free Pre-K.
If the first two options don't prove useful, call the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning directly at 1-404-656-5957. Ask to speak to the Pre-K consultant. Tell him you would like to enroll your 4-year-old in the free Bright from the Start program at a daycare center near your home. The consultant will ask for your address and tell you which nearby centers offer the program.
