Duck Duck Goose is a well known children's game. Arrange children into a circle and ask them to sit down. One person walks around the circle, calling each student "duck" until eventually naming one individual as a "goose." The goose must get up and chase the tagger around the circle. If the tagger is able to sit in the empty spot before being tagged by the goose, the goose becomes it. The game is then repeated.
Capture the Flag is easy to learn and encourages a great deal of exercise. Form two teams (ideally with three to a team) and establish a playing area. Decide upon a barrier line and have each team hide a flag on its side. The goal is to cross the barrier, steal the other team's flag and return it to your side without getting tagged in the process.
Red Light, Green Light is an easy game for children of all ages to get involved in playing. One player (the "red light") stands with his back to the others. As the person yells "green light!" the others run as fast as possible towards him. When "red light!" is yelled, they must stop. Anyone caught continuously running must return to the starting line. The game ends when someone arrives close enough to the red light to tap him.
Tag is another smart game for children of all ages and is easy to learn. The person who is "it" simply must chase down the other children to tag them. The person who was tagged "it."
