Jungle Activities for Preschool Children

Preschool children love to learn about the world around them. Teaching them about jungle animals does not have to be complicated. Some simple activities with basic supplies will get their imaginations going, and after that you can let them run wild.
  1. Paper Plate Snakes

    • Draw a spiral line starting at the edge of the plate and ending in the middle. Have the children color their plate to look like a coiled snake. Cut along the line so that the snake unwinds.

    Marble Tiger

    • Draw an outline of a tiger on an orange piece of construction paper. Put it in the bottom of a shallow box and tape it down. Put some black paint into the corners of the box and drop in a few marbles. Let the children tilt the box back and forth so the marble creates the tiger's stripes.

    Jungle Safari

    • Have your children draw or color pictures of jungle animals. Make binoculars by taping together two toilet paper tubes. Tape the drawings up in different places all around the room and let the children go on a safari to find the animals.

    Feet Parrot

    • Trace each child's foot and both of his hands on construction paper. Cut them out and glue them onto a separate piece of paper so that the foot makes the body of the parrot and the hands make the wings. Let the children draw on the eyes, beak and feet. Glue on feathers to add color.
