Help the kids make rainbow picture books using cut out pictures from magazines and rainbow drawings. Place several pieces of 8-by-8 cardstock together and use a hole punch to make three holes in the left hand side of the binding. Then use yarn to secure the pages. Help the kids draw rainbow pictures along with other landscapes on each page along with gluing pictures of rainbows on some of the pages also.
Encourage your preschool students to create rainbow striped rocks. Collect large flat rocks with the kids outdoors or buy rocks at local home improvement stores. Show the kids how to paint rainbow stripes on the rocks by using one color at a time. Paint one side and let the rock dry. Then turn the rock over and paint rainbow stripes or even rainbow dots on the other side.
Help your students make rainbow streamers in celebration of spring. Give each child a paper and help her paint the plate yellow to resemble the sun. Spray a light coat of spray-on glue on the plate and then sprinkle gold glitter on top to make the sun sparkle. Show the kids how to cut out rainbow strips from crate paper and then help staple these on the end of the plate.
Show your preschool students how to paint rainbows with landscapes, clouds and animals in the picture. The kids can paint flowers and other designs on the page also. If you prefer less of a mess, give the kids crayons or colored pencils along with cardstock or poster board paper. Help the class draw colorful rainbows on the page.
