Preschool students can make their own Cheerios necklaces to wear on the 100th day of school. Provide the students with a large bowl of Cheerios and a piece of yarn or string long enough to safely wear around their necks. Have each student count 100 Cheerios and string them on the necklace. Tie the ends together when finished.
Print a picture of a large empty jar on paper. You can also ask the students to draw a large jar shape on colored paper. Have the students count out 100 Cheerios and glue them "inside" the jar.
Preschoolers can use Cheerios to make their names. Allow each student to count 100 Cheerios. Provide each student with a sheet of colored construction paper. Have the students write their names on their papers using large letters and then glue the Cheerios on the letters. An alternative is to have the students write the number 100 instead of their names. The creations can be hung as 100th day of school decorations on the classroom walls or from the ceiling in the hallway.
Students can make their own sculptures out of Cheerios. After they have counted out 100 Cheerios, provide each student with a paper plate and glue. Ask the students to make sculptures by gluing the Cheerios together. An alternative is to create the sculpture out of modeling clay. Once the clay has dried, the students can glue on the Cheerios.
