Inflate several balloons and instruct children to sit facing each other, a few feet away. Give each team of two children one balloon. Show them how to softly bat the balloon to each other as it floats by. After several minutes, instruct preschoolers to stand and kick the balloon to each other. Give each child an empty paper towel roll and model how to hit a balloon with it.
Create a line with tape or chalk outside on a sidewalk or paved area. Give each of the preschoolers a full cup of water and instruct them to walk along the line without spilling the water. Make the activity more challenging by instructing two children to hold hands while walking along the line or having them walk around an obstacle. Give the activity a competitive edge by awarding a prize to the child whose cup is the most full at the end.
Lay a flat piece of wood that is an inch thick and about 6 feet long on the carpet or outside on a grassy area. Model for preschoolers how to hold out their arms for balance while walking across it. Line children up with half at one end and the other half on the other end of the board. Instruct them to walk across the plank and past the other children without stepping off the plank.
Give each child one red object and one green object. Call out a color and a body part and instruct children that they are to touch that colored object to that body part. When you say "red to green," however, they touch the red object to the green object. For team play, give everyone a partner and have them touch the object to their teammate's body part and add "green to green" and "red to red" commands, with preschoolers touching their objects to their teammate's objects.
