How to Find the Square Root on a Texas Instrument TI-30X IIS

The square root of a number equals the number that will equal the original number when multiplied by itself. For example, the square root of four equals two because when two is multiplied by itself, you get four. However, not all square roots are as easy to calculate. Therefore, it is useful to have a calculator, such as the Texas Instruments TI-30X IIS to help you in finding the square roots of various numbers.

Instructions

    • 1

      Push the "2nd" key.

    • 2

Press the x^2 key. Since you have already pushed the "2nd" key, the calculator will use the second function for the x^2 key, which is the square root function.

    • 3

Enter the number that you want to find the square root of into the calculator. For example, if you want to find the square root of 169, enter "169."

    • 4

      Push the ")" button.

    • 5

Push the "Enter" key and the calculator will display the square root of the number you entered. In this example, the calculator will display 13 as the square root of 169.
