Develop a success academy seminar based on the goals for your ninth grade students. If your success academy is a separate school, your goals will be for all ninth grade students. If your success academy is for students within in your ninth grade program, it will be a program students work to enter. Either way, the seminar should be a time for students to learn more about success in general. Therefore, your goals should include several objectives in which students learn about succeeding.
Write your objectives in student-first language as you plan your ninth grade seminar. For instance, your objectives might be "Students will learn the importance of keeping a study schedule" and "Students will learn to define personal success based on what each can do according to his own abilities."
Develop large group and small group activities that students can participate in to meet the objectives you have set. Students might gather together to brainstorm study skills or to practice them, or students might work in small groups to evaluate their own learning styles and decide what an appropriate level of success for themselves would be.
Create a schedule for your seminar, which includes activities, meetings and presentations. Depending on your schedule and the time you have allotted for your seminar, you may do this over an afternoon or several days.
