What is the legal age to drop out of school in NZ?

In New Zealand, there's no single "legal age to drop out". Instead, the law requires students to participate in education or training until they turn 17. After 17, they are free to leave. However, leaving school before completing secondary education (NCEA Level 2) can significantly impact future opportunities.
