What is a mainstream school?

A mainstream school is a school that provides education for all children, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. It's the opposite of a special needs school or segregated education system. Children with disabilities are integrated into regular classrooms alongside their typically developing peers. The level of support provided for students with disabilities can vary, ranging from minimal assistance to intensive individualized education programs (IEPs). The goal is to foster inclusive learning environments where all students can learn and grow together.
