What is the value of a coin called widows mite?

In the Bible (Mark 12:41-44), a widow gives two lepta, called a "widow's mite," to the treasury at the temple. The lepton was a small, copper coin worth only a fraction of a Roman penny. It was the smallest denomination currency during that period. Its low value symbolizes the widow's humble offerings and her self-sacrificing generosity despite limited means.
