Is a ruler simple machine?

A ruler is not considered a simple machine. Simple machines are mechanical devices that alter the direction or magnitude of a force. Some examples of simple machines include levers, pulleys, and wheels and axles. A ruler, on the other hand, is a measuring tool used for measuring lengths and distances. It does not alter the direction or magnitude of a force, so it is not classified as a simple machine.
