How do you ween baby rabbits?

1. Start the process early.

The best time to start weaning baby rabbits is between 4 and 6 weeks of age. By this time, their digestive systems should be developed enough to handle solid foods.

2. Offer solid food gradually.

Start by offering small amounts of solid food like hay, pellets, or fresh vegetables once or twice a day. Gradually increase the amount of solid food offered as your rabbit gets used to it.

3. Reduce the amount of nursing time

As your rabbit starts eating more solid food, you can start reducing the amount of time you spend nursing them. This can be done by gradually shortening the nursing sessions or by nursing your rabbit less frequently.

4. Be patient.

Weaning can be a stressful process for both the rabbit and the owner. Be patient and understanding during this time, and don't get discouraged if your rabbit doesn't take to solid food immediately. Just keep offering it and they will eventually come around.
