What scores are needed to get into Tokyo University?

To get into Tokyo University, applicants need to take the University of Tokyo Entrance Examination, also known as Todai Entrance Exam. The exam consists of several subjects, including Japanese, mathematics, science, social studies, and a foreign language. The required scores vary depending on the faculty and department, but in general, applicants need to score in the top 1% of all test takers.

For example, for the Faculty of Law, applicants need to score at least 750 points out of a total of 900 points, with at least 150 points in Japanese, 150 points in mathematics, and 150 points in social studies. For the Faculty of Medicine, applicants need to score at least 825 points out of a total of 900 points, with at least 150 points in Japanese, 150 points in mathematics, and 150 points in science.

In addition to the entrance exam scores, applicants also need to submit their academic records, extracurricular activities, and personal statements. The selection process is highly competitive, and only a small number of applicants are admitted each year.
