How to Find a Performing Arts Summer School

Kids need to be kept busy during summer vacation. Enrolling them in a performing arts summer school is one of the best ways to keep the kids busy and creative while learning at the same time.

Instructions

    • 1

Sit down with your child or children and decide what they want to focus on in the performing arts. Some programs offer all aspects of performing arts such as music, theater and dance, so the children can experience a little bit of each and decide what they like the best. Some programs just offer ballet or choir.

    • 2

Ask your neighbors, friends of family members if they can recommend a performing arts school. Take copious notes on the full name of the program, a contact person and phone number.

    • 3

Make a list of important information about each program you investigate: contact names and numbers, prices and specialties (music, theater, dance). It's a good idea to have another column for perks or interesting items.

    • 4

Look around your area for performing arts schools, studying closely all the information you collect. Consult the yellow pages and the internet to put together a list of possible schools.

    • 5

Sign up your child or children as soon as you determine the best performing arts school. The chances are the school will fill up before summer arrives. You may have to pay a deposit or the full amount depending on their enrollment policy.
