How to Make Back to School Survival Kits for Teachers

Back-to-school survival kits are a great way for parents and booster groups to show appreciation and support for teachers. Include a personalized note with each kit, welcoming the teacher to a new school year. Let your children's teachers know that you stand ready as a partner in your children's education while opening a line of communication through shared humor.

Instructions

    • 1

Place three marbles in a resealable plastic bag. Add three Hershey's Hugs candies and one mini Payday bar.

    • 2

Add one hand-held maze game, one whistle, one 6-inch ruler and a deck of playing cards to the bag.

    • 3

Throw in a handful of cotton balls and a school-themed refrigerator magnet.

    • 4

Place an envelope or two of bath salts in a separate plastic bag, then add it to the first bag. This is to prevent the scent of the bath salts from penetrating the candy. Place "Tension Tamer" herbal tea bags in another small plastic bag, then add to the first bag. Again, this prevents the scent of the bath salts from penetrating.

Make copies of the following to put in each survival kit:Dear (Name of Teacher):You'll be a"maze"d when you see how well your students will do when you have all your "marbles." Here's a "Hug and Kiss" to tide you over until "Payday." If you need a friend, just "whistle," and we'll be right there to help "stack the deck" in your favor. Your "magnetic" personality will win these kids over, and they will be quick to "measure" up. You'll soon "cotton" to these wonderful kids! Have a little "Tension Tamer" at the end of the day, and let your troubles float down the drain. Have a great year!Sincerely, All of us from (Name of family, booster group or PTA)
