How to Make an Activity Book Using Online Printables

Children can benefit from activity books. Activity pages encourage imagination and build vocabulary and math skills along with problem-solving abilities. Children of all ages and skills will use activity books when they are traveling in the family vehicle, shut in due to bad weather, spending quiet time or not feeling well. Personalize an activity book by searching for online printables that meet the child's interest. Find free pages that spark your child's imagination. Older children will enjoy the challenge of word search puzzles, sodoku and drawing lessons.

Instructions

    • 1

Print online activities that are age appropriate for the grade level of your child (see Resources). You can choose puzzles, crafts and free coloring pages.

    • 2

Punch holes in each printed page.

    • 3

Encourage your child to decorate the cover with markers and stickers. Some binders have a protective plastic pocket. Help younger children place hand-decorated covers made with paper or card stock into the pocket.

    • 4

Punch holes in decorative paper or card stock for section dividers. Suggest ideas for your child to decorate the dividers.

    • 5

Add reinforcement stickers to the punched holes to keep pages intact.
