Teach your child the Spanish words for common emotions, like sadness, fear, happiness, etc.
Set up a mirror and have your child face it.
Say the name of an emotion in Spanish and have your child make the corresponding expression in the mirror.
Choose five to 20 cards with objects on them or photos of objects. Your child should be somewhat familiar with the names of the objects in Spanish.
Lay out the cards face up, so your child can see them all easily.
Say the name of an object in Spanish. For example, if there is a card of a dog, say "perro". You could say "de donde es...", and then the object to teach the phrase "where is".
Have them point to the correct object.
List three to five objects and see if your child can point to them all in order, for a slightly more complicated variation on the game.
Choose some common clothing items such as shoes, a hat, socks, a tie and a few shirts. Try to pick about 10 to 15 items, some of which can be matching.
Teach your child the words for these items in Spanish, as well as the commands "put on." "take off" and "match."
Lay out all of the clothing items in front of your child.
Say a command such as "put on" and list one of the items.
Have your child follow the command with the correct object. You could make the game even more fun by telling your child he can't take off an item unless you tell him to, and then make him layer the clothes in silly ways.
