As of 2011, Yadkin county has eight middle schools serving the needs of students in grades kindergarten through sixth. Boonville Elementary is located at 232 East Main Street in Boonville; Courtney Elementary is at 2529 Courtney-Huntsville Road in Yadkinville; East Bend Elementary is at 205 School Street in East Bend; Fall Creek Elementary is at 2720 Smithtown Road in East Bend; Forbush Elementary is at 1400 Bloomtown Road in East Bend; Jonesville Elementary is at 101 Cedarbrook Road in Jonesville; West Yadkin Elementary is at 4432 Old US 421 Highway in Hamptonville; and Yadkinville Elementary is at 305 N. State Street in Yadkinville.
Yadkin county, in 2011, has two middle schools for students in grades seven and eight. Class sizes at both schools average about 20 students. Forbush Middle School is located at 1431 Falcon Road in East Bend. The school has an average enrollment of about 500 students. Starmount Middle School is located at 2626 Longtown Road in Boonville. Average student enrollment is around 400 students. The schools operate on a traditional schedule of two semesters, with a lengthy summer break.
Students in grades nine through 12 attend one of Yadkin County's two high schools. Forbush High School is located at 1525 Falcon Road in East Bend. Enrollment in 2011 was around 930 students, which exceeds the state average of 800 students. It is a member of the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference. Starmount High School is located at 2516 Longtown Road in Boonville. Enrollment in 2011 was about 730 students, slightly below the state average. Starmount is also in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference.
Yadkin Early College is located at 4649 Hwy. 601 in Yadkinville. It opened in 2007 and is partnered with nearby Surry Community College. The school offers accelerated classes for motivated students. The final year of high school is spent taking classes at Surry Community College. Students wishing to attend the school must apply during their eighth grade year. Factors such as academics, behavior, economic status and gender are all considerations for admission.
The Yadkin Success Academy is located at 733 East Main Street in Yadkinville. It serves approximately 60 students at a time, ranging in age from 5 to 18. The school offers many classes not usually found in North Carolina schools, such as Tagalog and Cantonese language classes, as well as a wide variety of extracurricular activities.
