Give your child's teacher a gift from the whole class. Send a note home with each student and ask for donations for a large gift, such as a gift card to the teacher's favorite restaurant or local spa. Create a scrapbook highlighting special classroom events throughout the year or design a memory book, giving each student a page to write a special memory about the school year and teacher. Have each student decorate a small quilt square with fabric markers and sew them all together to make a class quilt for the teacher.
Many teachers buy supplies and special materials for the classroom with their own money. Create a gift bag full of useful classroom items such as construction paper, pencils, markers and crayons. Purchase some special classroom items, such as new beanbags for the classroom library, a bright new floor rug or a new aquarium for the class pet. Give the teacher a gift card to a local school supply store and allow her to select the items she wants.
Write the teacher a personal note thanking him for his time and dedication throughout the year. Include stories about what your child has learned and how much she has grown during the school year. Purchase your child's favorite book for the teacher to keep in the class library and write a special dedication to him on the inside cover. Have your child decorate a gift for the teacher, such as a coffee mug or picture frame, and include a special note from her with your gift.
Show your child's teacher your appreciation by giving her a gift selected especially for her. Select a blanket in her favorite color, a candle in her favorite scent or her favorite flower in a nice pot. Give her a gift card to her favorite local bookstore or purchase a small item for her beloved pet. If she has a collection or hobby, purchase an item that she can add to the collection or that she can use while enjoying the hobby.
