Reel teachers into the meeting by enticing them with a gift card to a favorite store, online boutique or teacher supply company. Gift cards are an excellent way to say "thank you for attending our meeting" and to give back to the teachers for all they do with the children. Prior to the meeting send out an in-school flyer or email to all the teachers asking them to attend the next parent/teacher meeting. Let them know the place and time along with announcing that there will be a drawing for teachers to win a gift card.
Create a basket of classroom supplies for the teacher gift. Purchase a medium to large basket from a craft supply store. Look for baskets that are school related such as lined with an ABC liner or a liner with a school theme. Fill the basket with small supplies that teachers need such as pens and pencils, erasers, notebooks, a journal, stationary, a travel mug, a travel sized tin of coffee, sticky pads, gum and a thank you note. Place a big bow on the top of the basket and set it out for display prior to the meeting.
Help teachers get into the groove with a new piece of school spirit-wear. Purchase a travel mug or plastic cup with a lid and straw with the school name adhered to the front. Other options for spirit wear include a sweatshirt, T-shirts and a hooded jacket. If you are unsure of what to purchase for the spirit-wear gift then get a gift card for one item of the teacher's choice or give him an amount to spend.
Help the teachers wake up in the morning with a coffee and tea gift basket. Purchase a medium sized basket with a coffee themed liner and choose your favorite coffee brand and hot tea brand. Include a travel sized mug, sugar packets, coordinating paper napkins and a thank you note for the teacher.
