Youth Activities in NYC

New York City, the most populous city in the United States, and is filled with a variety of activities for youth. Ranging from sports and teamwork activities to arts and cultural events, there are countless opportunities for youth in NYC to get involved, meet new people and expand their horizons.
  1. Harlem RBI

    • Harlem RBI, an organization dedicated to providing inner-city youth with the opportunity to thrive physically, mentally and academically, provides programs for youth of all ages. Harlem RBI values teamwork, respect, diversity, promise, effort, integrity and fun. Beginning at the age of six and continuing to the age of 21, youth members of Harlem RBI have the chance to learn from their peers and team members while also challenging themselves to define their own success. There are a number of year-round as well as after-school and summer programs available.

    New York Road Runners

    • New York Road Runners is dedicated to creating and supporting free fitness programs for youth in under-served communities in NYC. The sole purpose of New York Road Runners is to transform lives through a number of spring, summer and before- and after-school programs. All programs focus on building character and encouraging teamwork, while also supplementing the physical-education programs that were virtually eliminated from most NYC public school curricula.

    YMCA of Greater New York

    • Through programs that build spirit, mind and body, the YMCA of Greater New York teaches the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The YMCA emphasizes youth empowerment through after-school programs, swimming, sports leagues, instructional classes and even counseling. They also offer a number of youth camps, including day camp and overnight camp.

    The Abrons Art Center

    • Encouraging artistic excellence and creativity, the Abrons Art Center hosts a number of performances, exhibitions, classes and workshops and arts-in-education programming at public schools. The Abrons Art Center was founded upon the main premise that everyone should have access to the arts and the opportunity to benefit from programs in many artistic disciplines. There are classes for children and adults of all ages, as well as summer camps and live performances.
