How to Score the CogAT Test

Some school districts offer an advanced program for students with exceptionally advanced academic abilities. While teacher evaluations and recommendations often play a large part in determining whether a student joins the district's advanced program, tests provide another measure on which to base placement decisions. Many school districts use the Cognative Abilities Test (CogAT) from Riverside Publishing when deciding on advanced program placements. Teachers can administer a practice CogAT test to ensure students are familiar with the types of questions on the test.
