Strategies to motivate slow elementary readers should make reading a fun, rewarding activity for students. First, you must help your students develop proper reading skills and habits. This motivates them to read consistently and increases their reading comprehension abilities. When they possess the proper skills, you can motivate your students to enjoy their reading by providing them with numerous books to choose from as well as engaging supplementary material, such as movies based on the reading assignment.
