Sixth Grade Lessons on Democracy

Teaching young children about our system of government and the role that they'll eventually play in it isn't an easy task, but is an important one. They may have heard that they live in a free society, but may not know why that is or what it means. Learning why they're free to say or believe what they want, why elected leaders work for them, why they have the right to vote and understanding no one can take their rights way is critical for their development.
