What is multigrade classroom?

A multigrade classroom is a classroom where students of different grade levels are taught together by one or two teachers. Instead of having separate classes for, say, third and fourth graders, they are combined into a single learning environment. This is common in rural areas or small schools where there aren't enough students to justify having a separate class for each grade.
