How to Make a Hundreds Chart

Hundreds charts are graphs organized in 10 rows and 10 columns, containing all numbers from 1 to 100. This type of chart is very helpful for young students, as it helps them learn to count up to 100 and understand the concept of ones and tens. It's also helpful when learning multiplication tables. Making a hundreds chart is an easy task, accomplished by drawing horizontal and vertical lines to create a grid and inserting numbers in the boxes.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw 11 vertical lines on a blank piece of paper, using your ruler. Keep the same distance between the lines, to create 10 equally-sized columns. The exact length of the lines does not matter for the time being, even though the top end must be on the same level.

    • 2

Draw 11 horizontal lines, keeping the same distance you kept between vertical lines. Start from the top end of the vertical lines and continue downwards. If some vertical lines don't reach the 11th horizontal line or go beyond it, extend them or erase them, to complete the grid.

    • 3

Enter number 1 on the top-left square and continue entering numbers in ascending order, until you have reached 100 on the bottom-right square. Each time you reach the end of a row, continue on the left side of the new one.

    • 4

Write "Hundreds Chart" in big letters on top of the paper. Draw a horizontal 3-inch line on the bottom-left corner of the paper and write "Name:" on its left.
