What Summary of no gumption?

No Gumption is a short story written by Fannie Hurst in 1913. It tells the story of Annie and her husband Dan, who live a seemingly ordinary life in a small town. Annie is a hard-working woman, while her husband is rather lazy and unwilling to work hard to support their family. Annie's brother Henry, who is a successful man in the city, pays a visit one day and offers to give Dan a great job. Dan is initially reluctant but is eventually persuaded.

While Dan is working in the city, Annie must remain behind and maintain their home. She works hard to keep things running smoothly, but feels lonely and isolated without her husband. After several months, Dan returns to his old habits and loses the city job. Annie is disappointed but determined to make sure that her family is cared for. She works hard and soon their life is back to where it was before Henry's offer.

The story ends with Annie reflecting on her life and the lack of gumption that has kept Dan from reaching his full potential. She realizes that they will likely always be in the same place because Dan does not have the ambition or drive to make a better life for his family.
