What do you think is the biggest factor for getting good grades in school?

There's no single biggest factor for getting good grades, as academic success is multifaceted. However, I'd argue that consistent effort and effective study habits are the most significant contributors. This encompasses several things:

* Time management: Balancing schoolwork with other commitments effectively. Procrastination is a major enemy of good grades.

* Active learning: Engaging with the material actively, not just passively rereading notes. This includes techniques like summarizing, questioning, and applying concepts.

* Seeking help when needed: Asking questions in class, utilizing office hours, forming study groups, and seeking tutoring when struggling with a concept.

* Organization: Keeping track of assignments, deadlines, and materials.

* Motivation and engagement: A genuine interest in the subject matter significantly boosts effort and retention.

While intelligence and natural aptitude play a role, consistent effort and effective learning strategies are far more impactful in the long run. Someone with high intelligence but poor study habits might underperform compared to someone with average intelligence but excellent study skills and consistent dedication.
