What are body sentences?

Body sentences are the sentences in a paragraph (or essay) that come *after* the topic sentence and *before* the concluding sentence. They develop and support the main idea presented in the topic sentence. They provide evidence, explanations, examples, and details to make the main point clear and convincing to the reader.
