What is an example of fallacy composition?

Fallacy of Composition Example:

Claim: "Each individual atom in this table is invisible. Therefore, the entire table is invisible."

Why it's a fallacy: Just because the individual components of something are invisible doesn't mean the whole thing is invisible. Atoms are incredibly small, but their collective presence forms a large, visible object.

In this example:

* Part: Individual atoms are invisible.

* Whole: The table is visible.

The fallacy lies in assuming that the properties of the parts must also apply to the whole.

Other examples:

* "Each member of the team is talented. Therefore, the team will win the championship." Individual talent doesn't guarantee team success. Other factors like teamwork, strategy, and luck are crucial.

* "Every ingredient in this cake is delicious. Therefore, the cake will be delicious." This assumes that the combined taste of all the ingredients will be enjoyable, which isn't always the case.

The fallacy of composition is a common error in reasoning, so it's important to be aware of it and avoid making similar mistakes.
