* Talking too loudly in the library. I was in a group study room with my friends, and we were all talking and laughing a bit too loudly. A librarian came in and shushed us, even though there were other groups in the room who were just as loud.
* Wearing flip-flops to a formal event. I was attending a work conference, and I thought it would be okay to wear flip-flops since it was a casual event. However, my boss pulled me aside and told me that I needed to change into something more appropriate.
* Eating a banana on the subway. I was on my way to work, and I was eating a banana. A woman sitting across from me gave me a dirty look and told me that I was disgusting.
* Getting caught singing in the shower at the gym. I was singing along to the music in my headphones, and I didn't realize that the shower door was open. A man walked in on me and gave me a strange look.
These are just a few of the silliest reasons I've been told off for. It's always embarrassing to be caught doing something silly, but it's also a good reminder to be mindful of the people around you and to follow the rules.
