The Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence is a respected IQ test designed for the very young--children from 2 to 7 years old. In terms of math skills, the test evaluates Matrix Reasoning--the ability of the child to complete logical arrangements of designs with missing parts. The test also evaluates Processing Speed, for example, through coding, in which the child pairs copying symbols with simple geometric designs as quickly as possible for 2 minutes. The test is prepared and published by Harcourt Assessment.
The Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children is another professional IQ test. The test is designed for children ages 3 to 18 years. The math part of the test consists of such sections as Triangles, Pattern Reasoning (ages 7 to 18), Block Counting, Number Recall and Riddles. This IQ test is published by the American Guidance Service.
All the Tests, a website, allows any children to quickly test their math IQ. The test consists of just 10 questions, and therefore, is far from being comprehensive. At the same time, its advantage is that it tests only math intelligence and nothing else. Another advantage is that the test can be completed online.
IXL, another website, provides children with a chance to test their math knowledge and practice their numerical skills. This online resource is designed for children from Pre-K to the eighth grade. The difficulty level ranges accordingly, from connecting dots and identifying shapes to identifying proportional relationships and solving linear functions and cube roots.
