Portable Stages for Elementary School

Many school districts find themselves lacking in space for assemblies, student concerts, elementary theater presentations and kindergarten graduation ceremonies. Removable and portable stages aid in this school problem since the stage pieces can be broken down and stored in unused areas of the facility. Tiered stages allow spectators to see all children performing in a spring choral concert, for example, and to capture great photos during performances and ceremonies.
  1. Pieced-Together Stage

    • Stage decks are often available in square or rectangular shapes and can be purchased in varying sizes up to 4 by 8 feet and heights ranging from 8 inches to 40 inches. Numerous decks can be purchased and placed together with a secure connecting feature to create a larger and safe stage for your needs. Stage surfaces may be constructed of wood or non-slip decking or are carpeted and have braces and leg locks for student safety. This type of stage often has removable legs for storage, and the legs may be attached to the underside of the deck.

    Foldable Stage

    • Stage decks may also come in foldable options, which avoid your having to remove legs and promote ease in setup and tear-down. Similar to folding card tables, the legs are secured by folding the legs down and pushing the center to lock them in place. Most folding stage decks have wheels for transporting them to the storage area like cafeteria tables. The height on folding stages can be adjusted for children of all sizes.

    Tiered Risers

    • Tiered or choral risers are often used for elementary school band concerts and choral presentations, allowing parents to see their child among all of the others. Foldable risers are an option for added seating during an assembly and, depending on the purchased style, can be attached to each other in an arc shape or straight. Risers often have wheels attached to them for one-person transporting and may include a handrail on both sides of the riser system.

    Stage Accessories

    • Items may need to be purchased to ensure the safety of the children using the portable stage, such as steps with a handrail and a guardrail attached to the back of the stage. Pleated stage skirting can be attached to the front and sides of the stage for a more attractive look while hiding the structure underneath of the stage. Backdrops and the backdrop frame may add to the look in matching colors to the skirting. Storage caddies help keep the stage safe while it stored and may prolong the life and appearance of the various types of stage pieces.
