Begin by letting students play in the interactive storybook section. This section has a story-telling feature that reads the story and highlights each word that is spoken by the narrator. Students can listen to the entire story then go back and play on each page until they are ready to move to the next page. Each page has characters that perform when students click on them.
Spend time practicing the skills that accompany each Reader Rabbit adventure. These skills include work with the alphabet, letter sounds, putting beginning and ending sounds together to make words and boosting early reading skills.
Practice in each area of the Reader Rabbit Phonics program. The different skill areas include: phonics and decoding, phonemic awareness, sentences, vocabulary, spelling and comprehension.
Track individual student success with student progress reports. Use these reports to encourage more practice and to give students a feeling of achievement in each area they master.
