Kids can create their own ocean scene in a box complete with lobsters. Just print out lobsters from your computer and draw some seaweed, corals and your favorite fish. Then paste, color, cut and put them in a decorated box.
Decorate the inside of a shoebox to make it look like it's under water. Draw the water, ocean floor, rocks, coral, seaweed and some fish. Then, print out some lobster pictures onto cardstock and cut out. Glue the lobsters onto the inside of the box, some on the floor of the "ocean" and some in the background.
Create a lobster diorama by hollowing out a Styrofoam lobster trap buoy. These buoys can often be found at marine supply stores and will give the whole diorama a very nautical feeling. Paint the interior of the lobster trap buoy blue and glue sand to the bottom. Then, add small plastic lobsters to the interior. Additionally, you can add small sea shells, twigs and other miniature sized items of real things that may be found in the ocean or on a beach.
This simple lobster diorama is made from two paper plates, construction paper and clear plastic. Have the kids cut out lobsters, coral, kelp and other sea creatures to decorate the seascape. Turn one plate upside down and draw a circle around the base of the plate, then cut that circle out creating a viewing window for the diorama. Cover the open space in the plate with a plastic piece that is at least 1/4 inch larger than the hole. Tape the plastic to the inside of the plate. Color the background blue with blue markers or crayons. Then have kids draw and make construction paper lobsters out of red construction paper. Coral, kelp and other sea creatures can be made from various construction paper colors as well. You can alternatively use lobster and sea life stickers for that part. Add the construction paper (or sticker) lobsters and sea animals to the diorama by gluing them to the blue background. Staple the top plate to the back plate and have the kids write their names on their dioramas.
This diorama uses life-sized lobsters to create a realistic effect for the ocean scene. This diorama will create a dramatic effect for any project. Use life-sized plastic lobsters and other life size sea animals for this project. Find a large cardboard box that will house these plastic animals. Then, create an ocean scene on one half of the box and a beach scene on the other half. You can use poster paints for the ocean side and sand and glue for the beach scene. A sun and clouds can be drawn onto the box toward the top. Then, add the plastic lobsters and other animals. Some lobsters can be in the "water" while others can be climbing out toward the beach side of the box.
