There's no such thing as "getting" a date in elementary school in the way older kids or adults might think of it. Elementary school-aged children are still learning about friendships and social interactions. What might look like a "date" to a young child is usually just spending time together with friends, playing games, or doing activities they both enjoy.
If a child wants to spend time with someone they like, it's more about inviting them to play, doing something together at recess, or sitting near each other in class. There's no formal asking or planning involved like there might be in older ages. The focus is on building friendships and having fun.
