Fill plastic containers of different sizes with items that preschoolers can use to create crafts, such as beeswax crayons, kid-safe scissors and construction paper.
Place the plastic containers on low tables that can be easily reached by preschool-age children.
Fill a large basket with different-size wooden blocks. Use blocks that have smooth edges and do not present any splinters or roughness.
Place the block basket on the floor so that preschoolers can build structures with the blocks in the middle of the room.
Set up an area of the room dedicated to baby dolls. Set out soft dolls that do not contain toxic plastics, and arrange doll beds and play silks next to the dolls for the preschoolers to use to nurture their "babies."
