Research programs that can be purchased and downloaded or done interactively online. Many schools are offering online courses for students who are home schooled. Make sure that you are getting the best value for your dollar and consider an electronic classroom through a remote school campus; that way if the student has questions that you can't answer he has a live instructor there to help.
Install the necessary applications for the program. Whether you choose a software package or a remote school campus online, there will be software that needs to be added to your computer in order to interact.
Keep a schedule. When you start learning any subject, it is important to make and keep a schedule so that you don't fall behind. If the student is part of a remote campus, then the classroom schedule will have to be adhered to, or important lectures will be missed.
Remember, even though the student is learning a skill on the computer, he still needs to have human interaction on the same subject. This is how he will learn to relate what he has learned to the real world and not simply see it as a bunch of information on a screen.
