One of the simplest ways to teach math from a Christian perspective is to implement the use of a Christian curriculum in your classroom. Christian math textbooks are designed to be used in a classroom setting but may also be used successfully in a home-school education system. Christian math textbooks offer students daily Bible verses interspersed within math lessons. Math textbooks also offer Biblical word problems within the lessons.
To make math lessons both interesting and spiritual, incorporate Bible-based games into your daily lessons. Bible word games are designed to force students to think about God's word while practicing math skills. For example, you can present your students with a secret code that uses numbers but translates into a Bible verse or Bible lesson. When your student solves the code, he will be rewarded with learning a new lesson about Christianity.
Throughout history, many mathematicians have struggled to balance science with religion. Talk to your students about several Christian mathematicians and discuss the contributions those mathematicians offered to the world. If a mathematician you are studying is well-known for solving an important problem or discovering a new algebraic formula, discuss it with your students and, if your students are advanced enough, work out the problem together on the blackboard.
Students of all ages will enjoy finding math problems in the Bible. Find several well-known passages that discuss numbers and talk about the importance of those passages within your class. Younger students will especially enjoy learning about Bible stories that contain math. For example, one famous passage in the New Testament discusses Jesus multiplying fish and loaves of bread. Talk about this with students and have them discuss just how much food it would have taken to feed the crowd.
