Insert a new page after the final page of the references in the word-processed document. All detail that is essential to the content of the paper, but not included in the body of the text, will go on this and subsequent pages. This detail will include charts, graphs, lists or even blocks of text gleaned from the research. Each set of data or detail should be on its own page, with each page designated as Appendix A, B, C and so forth, depending on how many pages are included.
Center the first line of the appendix at the top of the page. Make sure it is in the same font style and size as the rest of the paper. The first line simply says "Appendix (A, B, C as needed)." Margins on the page are 1 inch, just as in the body of the paper.
Double-space and center the next line of the appendix. This line is the title of the appendix and should be in upper and lower case. Never type anything in all caps when using APA format. The list, graphs and so forth should be double-spaced under the title and flush on the left margin.
Check spelling, grammar and punctuation in the appendix. The final paper, including the appendix, will be fully double-spaced, in a 12-point font (Arial or Times New Roman) with 1-inch margins. These basic APA guidelines do not change for any element of the paper.
