      Write your name either in the middle of the paper or in a corner with plenty of room to write other topics, the article picture shows. Put a circle around your name to indicate this is the main topic. Draw five lines from the circle with your name inside.

      Write down five story ideas that you would like to write about. From each of these five main ideas, put a box around each one and draw three lines from that main topic box. Examples might include breaking a bone, meeting your best friend, going to college, or your high school prom.

      Write something you clearly remember about this event on each line from the main box. If you think of more things specific to this event, then draw more lines so that you can detail it better.
