How to Write an Interpretive Essay on the Freedom Riders

Looking back to May 4,1961, and through the rise of protests during the civil rights era, Freedom Rides were a way for protesters to push the boundaries regarding segregation laws. Famous faces along with those unknown rallied and protested despite firebombing of buses and other brutality. For an interpretive essay, you should reflect on the problems and actions of those involved in the Freedom Rides and the effects of those rides. From research you gather on the subject, you should be able to highlight key points that support your understanding and summary of the events.
