Select "Format" from the top menu of the WordPad program. Change the font to a neutral font, such as "Times New Roman," and the font size to 12 point. Type the business letter in black with the text left justified.
Click inside the WordPad program to place the cursor at the beginning of the document. Type your name. Below your name, type your address.
Skip one space by pressing "Enter" twice. Type the date you're sending or delivering the business letter.
Press "Enter" twice. Type the name of the recipient, followed by his address.
Skip one space and add your salutation, such as "Dear Mr. Smith:". In a business letter, use a formal greeting with the recipient's title.
Type the body of your business letter. The first paragraph states what the letter is regarding. The second paragraph gives necessary details, and the third paragraph includes action items and a thank you to the recipient. Skip one space between each paragraph.
Press "Enter" twice to skip one space. Type a closing such as "Best Regards."
Skip four lines and type your full name at the end of the business letter.
Click "File" from the main menu at the top of the WordPad program. Select "Save as" to save the business letter on your computer.
Click "File" and "Print" to print the letter. Sign your name between the closing and your typed name before you send or deliver the letter.
