Select a specific culture to conduct your research on if you haven't been assigned one. Think about the places in the world you would like to visit. Your essay will be much easier to compose if you are enthusiastic about the society you choose. Other ways to decide on a topic can be through television and other media or through people you have interacted with in daily life.
Visit the library to begin your initial research. The library has a wide range of resources from books and journals to magazines, newspapers and videos. An encyclopedia would be helpful because it contains the sociodemographics of some cultures. Begin your research by finding the culture's basic information such as language, religion, education, food, traditions and more. If you or someone you know is acquainted with people from this culture, gain a more intimate knowledge of the culture by interviewing one or more of these people.
Choose the type of culture essay you will write. Whether it is a persuasive, informative or compare and contrast paper, keep in mind to avoid passing judgment. Provide information without bias and offer your findings in a knowledgeable way.
Organize your paper. Include a title page, a table of contents, an introduction, the body of your paper and a conclusion. Include the reason that you chose this specific culture and present a strong argument within the full paper. If you are going to focus on one aspect of the culture, make it known within the introductory portion of the paper. Present an in-depth overview of the culture's history that is worthy of note. Support your paper with evidence where needed.
Emphasize what you found most appealing about this culture. Present a well-thought-out conclusion that embodies a body of work you can share with a class or even the public.
Document your sources on your reference or works cited page as your instructor requires, including in-text citations where needed, especially for quotations and paraphrases of what your sources have written or said.
