Are header and heading the same thing in mla format?

In MLA style, a header and a heading are not the same thing.

Header

- A header is a brief identifier that appears at the top of every page of your paper, including the title page.

- It includes your last name and the page number, right-aligned.

- The header should be double-spaced and placed half an inch from the top of your paper.

Heading

- A heading is a title or label that introduces a new section or part of your paper.

- Headings are typically centered and formatted in bold, using different font sizes and styles to indicate their level of importance.

- Headings are not included on the title page.
