Reliability Centered Maintenance Training

Reliability Centered Maintenance is an approach defined by the late John Moubray as a process that seeks to control maintenance costs while keeping vital equipment running. The specifications for RCM are laid out in SAE JA1011 "Evaluation Criteria for Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) Processes referencing Message Specification."
  1. Courses

    • RCM training courses range in duration and cost depending on the needs of the individual being trained. Some organizations even offer free live online overview courses using Voice Over IP.

    Curriculum

    • A one-day course overview should cover the basics of formulating an RCM asset management strategy, the "maintenance maxims" and RCM standards. Overviews will also cover the origins and future of RCM, which is an evolving approach and standard.

    Practitioner Certification

    • RCM Practitioner Certification is for those who wish to instruct others in RCM principles or who are leading an organization's RCM efforts. There are four levels of certification, with each level requiring a specific level of both knowledge and hands-on experience in the field.
