New York Automotive & Diesel Institute in Jamaica, New York offers collision repair certification as a Master Certified Technician. Universal Technical Institute based in Boston is one of the largest accredited technical schools in the United States and offers collision and auto body repair along with a long list of other specialty fields. Two schools operate out of Pennsylvania, Automotive Training Center with two locations in Exton and Warminster, as well as Universal Technical Institute in Philadelphia.
In the South, the single biggest school for paint and collision repair is Nashville Auto Diesel college. Universal Technical Institute operates in two southern states--Charlotte, North Carolina and Orlando, Florida.
In the Midwest, there are a number of auto body and paint schools in operation, most notably Universal Technical Institute in Chicago and Lincoln College of Technology, which operates two Midwestern schools in Melrose Park, Illinois and Indianapolis, Indiana.
Encompassing southern California to Texas and north to Kansas, there are at least seven major collision repair schools. Universal Technical Institute operates schools in Phoenix, Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles and Sacramento. Wyotech, another large school, is also based in Sacramento and Lincoln College of Technology operates out of Grand Prairie, Texas.
In the Northwest, the Penn Foster career school joins numerous small local schools scattered throughout the region, though few of the large technical schools operate here.
